William Ruckelshaus has spent a lifetime in leadership. The first director of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, he also led the FBI and served as Deputy U.S. Attorney General before working in the private sector as Chairman and CEO of Browning-Ferris Industries. One of the greatest environmental statesmen in American history, Bill chairs the William Ruckelshaus Center, a partnership of the University of Washington and Washington State University to promote collaborative problem-solving.
